I have a BA in Spanish and International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. Students first read and cut out the booklet that contains text and illustrations and they then sketch and create their own version using the text only template. This activity uses ser with with personality, appearance, and professions along with various family members. Students will practice 3 forms of each verb with these activities. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes when asked about statements in each of the 16 boxes. A sample statement is, "Mi mamá es maestra en una escuela primaria." When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verbs to the third person. Some will require students to use the possessive de. 2. Write an appropriate Spanish infinitive verb under 6 images at the bottom of the paper. These are fun activities for students learning ser, and they're also great back to school get to know you / review activities for students with prior Spanish experience. 2 pages

This vocabulary activity bundle is great for practicing new vocabulary and revisiting vocabulary throughout the year. There is one page for each of the 20 official Spanish speaking countries, plus Puerto Rico. The categories section is blank so that you may choose the categories best suited for your class. Write the categories that you want across the top before photocopying, or have students write them when the papers are distributed. Students fill in the grid with words that fit into the categories and start with the letters of the Spanish speaking country on the left. As you introduce new vocabulary topics throughout the year, you will be able to reuse the grids by changing the categories to match your unit of study. Students sketch a French "selfi" in the cell phone and then write corresponding sentences giving basic information and descriptions of themselves. There are 3 versions of the activity to allow for differentiation. The first version gives sample sentence structure and students must add their own details such as hair and eye color. Name Version 3: This version instructs students to write a paragraph about their selfies.
